Sashi Plas

Sashi Plas was born in 1983 in Calcutta, India. He was adopted when he was only 2.5 months old. He grew up in a small town known as; Elyria, (northeastern OH). There he completed his college prep courses and then went to Kent State University. Plas received Bachelors in Fine and Professional Arts from Kent State University in 2006 and was then accepted into the Akron University’s workforce program for graphic arts a year later. Here he studied Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.

Throughout the duration of Plas's years at KSU he was able to participate in two trips to New York where he learned about modern and contemporary art. While in New York he took part of many artist lectures as well studio visits. Plas then traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he studied western contemporary art. Plas has exhibited in two group exhibitions in 2005 and 2006 both put on by the Upper Division KSU Sculpture Classes. Plas’s first solo exhibition (PLAY) was in 2006 at the Kent State Sculpture Gallery.

Plas currently resides in Elyria, OH where he still makes time to produce art on the side when he can.
